Stand 4 Respect, Not H8, 2010, 4'x8', Cut Paper on Wood with Gesso.

Done in collaboration with 15 Adolescents at Mount Anthony Union High School.

The mural deals with adolescent culture and social stereotypes, with an emphasis placed on physical, psychological, and virtual bullying.

One thing that pleased me about the mural collaboration with Traci was that it opened up a line of communication between students who were in the same class, but not in the same "social groups". The topic of bullying, while certainly disturbing is current and part of their every day world. What I also liked about the experience was witnessing the students' reactions to the finished artwork.
